USBtinyISP is an ISP programmer designed for AVR based microcontrollers and supports 6-pin and 10-pin connectors. It works perfectly with AVRDude and Arduino IDE for ATmega328 and ATmega168 (and all other AVRs AVRDude supports).
The USBtinyISP has a jumper, that when installed powers the board to be programmed.
Note: This ISP can only handle chips with up to 64K Flash. So it won't work with ATmega1280 or ATmega2560.
