The CD4051 is an 8-channel analog multiplexer / demultiplexer and allows you to use one analog input and three digital outputs (to address ports) to receive values from a total oif 8 analog inputs. Please check the Arduino Playground for an excellent explanation on how the chip works and how to drive it with an Arduino.
