Due to higher package volumes we are able to offer slightly lowered prices on all shipping methods:

As can be seen above, we also introduced a new shipping method: Postpac Priority Light which offers the same service as Postpac Priority but is limited to 250g total weight. This means with Postpac Priority Light you will get your shipment on next working day (Mo-Fr).
We have also changed the way we hand over shipments to Swiss Post. This allows us to accept same day shipping orders until 13:30 instead of 13:00 and on top of that you will get your first tracking entry in the afternoon instead of late in the evening as before.

We have been informed by customers that Priority shipments from Thursday 10th of November were delivered with 1-3 days delay.
Upon our search request we received the information from Swiss Post that some shipments have been wrongly sorted in Härkingen and were therefor delayed.
We are really sorry for this and apologize to all customers that were affected by this delay. But unfortunately it is completely outside our sphere of influence. Swiss Post doesn't refund delayed shipments in any way, but we would like to offer all affected customers a refund for their shipment fee. Please contact us with your order number to get the shipment fee of your delayed package refunded.

|

In the past roughly 50% of our shipments to Germany have been held back by german customs with doubtful reasons to say the least, while every single shipment we made to other countries arrived in time and passed customs without any problems.
Naturally all of our shipments were properly declared and contained the necessary number of invoice copies for customs. For the receiving customer in Germany this in the first place just annoying, no matter who caused the delay and he is understandably upset about us.
As we have in years not found a way to please German customs we have decided to remove Germany from our list of shipping destinations. We have taken this decision not lightly and if the situation changes we will get back to rethink the decision any time. |

Unfortunately we have been removed from the Arduino distributor program without any prior notice and becoming reinstated as distributor is bound to conditions that we are unable to meet. We deeply regret that we therefor can't add or reorder any Arduino products in the future. We will keep a small stock of a few boards like Uno, Mega etc. from other suppliers, but in the long run we will have to EOL all Arduino products.
While we deeply regret how things developed we also think that this won't be a problem for the majority of our customers as the Arduino products are meanwhile broadly available at electronic discounters and we carry a whole lot of compatible and improved boards in our catalogue.

| Swiss Post gives up on A+ from 1.1.2014 |
|
|
|
|
Swiss Post decided spontaneously to stop offering A+ shipping per 1.1.2014 for parcels with a height of up to 50mm height without any prior notice. This was as surprising as it was for us for most of Swiss Posts staff, as it took them 3 days to figure out that the product was discontinued and give us the correct info.
We deeply regret the decision of the still-monopolist Swiss Post as many of our customers enjoyed the fact that small orders were delivered on saturdays or just the reduced shipping for lightweight parts/orders.
Yet unshipped orders with A-Post+ will be shipped by PostPac Priority without any surcharge.

| Erroneous due dates in invoices from Dec-2013 |

Due to a programming bug in our webshop software some invoices created in december 2013 have an erroneus due date in the year 2038. Only the year was wrong while day and month of the due date were correct. We have fixed this naughty little bug today and apologize for the wrong invoices. New invoices with correct due dates can be downloaded from your accounts page.

| Post shipments from Monday 19th August delayed 1 day |

Due to an error on behalf of Swiss Post all our priority shipments that left us monday 19th were delayed for 1 day due to a yet unknown problem on Swiss Posts side.
We are awaiting a comment and explanation of the issue at hand from Swiss Post and will update this news entry as soon as we get any news from them.
Customers who were affected by this problem with a priority order from Monday, please contact our customer service to let us know and work out a solution for you.
Note: DHL shipments were not affected by this problem.
[Update 27th Aug 2013]: Swiss Post has informed us that a sorter machine in distribution center Haerkingen was down for some time which caused some shipments from that day to be delivered one day late. |

| Celebrating the birthdays of Konrad Zuse and Alan Turing |

On 22th June 2013 Konrad Zuse would have become 103 years old and on 23th of June Alan Turing would have had his 101th birthday. With their work and dedication they have laid the foundation for many later inventions we all now use on a daily base and just take as granted. We would like to honour these two outstanding inventors with specials on the coming weekend:

We have just release version 1.51 of robox-live, our Linux Live system specialized on Arduino development. Version 1.51 contains the latest releases of the Arduino IDE (1.0.3 and 1.5.1 for Arduino Due) and a whole lot more.
robox-live ist available as CD, DVD, USB and network boot image.

| Delayed Postpac Priority on 30.11.2012 |

We have received information from customers that Postpac Priority shippings that have left us at 30/11/2012 have been delayed by one day in processing at the distribution center of Swiss Post. We are currently tracking down with Swiss Post what has caused this delay and we will update this post with any further information we receive.
However we'd like to point out, that all shipments have left us on the evening of 30/11/2012 and that the delay occured at the local distribution center of Swiss Post.
[Update 17.12.2012:] We have been informed by Swiss Post that those shipments have been handled as Economy shipments due to an error on Swiss Posts side. Swiss Post would like to apologize for this error. If you have been affected by this problem, please contact our customer services for a discount code as compensation for the delay. |

Our first Free Shipping days have been a huge success and we promised to celebrate them again. Here they are again:
All orders from Switzerland or Liechtenstein reaching us between 1st of December and 2nd of December / 22:00 will be shipped free if above CHF 10.00 total order value.
Customers from outside Switzerland please contact us for a discount code valid for that period.

| Shipping and office times season holidays 2012 |

Christmas
Orders reaching us before 23:00 on the December 23rd will be shipped on 24th of December 2012. Later orders will be shipped on 27th of December. Pickup is exceptionally not possible on December 24th, our Pickup Point is closed at this day. On December 27th and 28th we will ship regulary according to our shipping policy, so orders before 13:00 will be shipped same day.
New Years Eve
At December 31st 2012 and January 2nd 2013 there will be no shipping at all. Orders reaching us after December 28th 2012 13:00 will be shipped on the January 3rd 2013.
Our offices will stay closed from 24th of December until and including 2nd of January 2013. We will try our best during this time to answer any email inquiries as fast as possible.
To get your order timely before christmas, we recommend you to order latest on December 15th with Postpac Economy resp. December 19th for Postpac Priority. |
